FYI - NH Steel surcharges starting April 1st

Bad news also for those of us planning on building a house. A friend of mine in the constructions supply business said to get ready to grab your ankles. Everything from lumber, rebar et al is going up as well. Especially in California. You get ripped by everyone for living here. The weather is great but it the cost getting rediculous?

At least I purchased the tractor before it hits the fan.

Yeah - tell me about it. I'm re-building a couple of houses right now, and thankfully I bought all the materials last summer. Sheets of OSB, for example, are now going for around $16 each. I got two pallets of them for less than $4 a sheet a year ago. I don't see how a 400% price increase is possible...

On the good side (if there is one), I can now get rid of the inherited fleet of scrapped cars out in back of my place. With scrap steel and iron prices being what they are, I can actually get some money out of them instead of paying someone a couple hundred bucks each to haul them away.

I read you bio and was intrigued with the resort you are fixing up. Were is it located. I am sure it is a lot of work, but I would love to be able to do something like that. At least I think so. All right maybe not a whole resort but maybe fix up some old homes.
