Kioti DK 45
I never paid much attention to this when I shut off my DK45 I would hear a click after a few seconds after the engine was stopped and had a suspicion that the engine would start with the key off.Today I parked the tractor on a slight incline with key off and let it roll about 5ft and it did start and run at this point the only way to shut it off is to turn the key back on but not into start position and turn it off again or pull the manual shutoff.
So be careful of where you park or if you have to work on engine IT WILL START WITH KEY IN OFF POISITON.
I am not sure if it could be started from the PTO shaft in the same manner since it's an electrically operated clutch.

The older DK series tractors used a "power off" system to shut off the fuel, like most other brands at the time. This was changed to a "power-on" system in the early 2000's. The clicking sound is now heard when the key is turned to start the engine as the solinoid pulls to allow the fuel rack to open, instead of the clicking after the engine is shut off, as the solinoid released after shutting off the fuel. This made the fuel shut-off pull knob obsolete, and increased safety against accidental starts.

So what model and year tractors are affected with this?
are the LK series tractors in this group from what I have seen posted her they have a 2 stage clutch could they be started by spinning the PTO?
The reason I originally posted this was to make owners aware of the potential hazard. No one except you have chimed in on this so there is no input at this time as to which models will do this.
If you would kindly share what ever info you have to better educate the owners.
Thanks!

Instead of trying to list every model, which would be difficult because some models were manufactured with both systems depending on the year of production, here are some indications of the "power-off" tractors:

LB Series Tractors with a shutdown system
LK Series before the LK3054XS with a shutdowm system
Any Tractor model with a fuel shut-off pull knob.
Any Tractor that you don't hear the solinoid "click" when the key is turned to accessory, or conversly, and tractor model that you hear the click about 3-5 seconds after the engine is shut down.

As stated earlier, many of the CK and DK models were produced both ways depending on the production year. All of the DKSE, CK20S, CK27, CK35, and DS Tractors are "power-on".

Hope this helps.
