Quick question I hope , Following the threads for gauge and light problems on the g1800, I am in the process of removing the gauge cluster to get to the gauges to chech voltages and remove the clear gauge lens, I got the steering wheel off fine , but the throttle lever arm on the left side is stuck on , pulled the cotter key that holds the arm to the inside of the shaft, looks clean but maybe surface rust inside the mating surfaces , Any words of wisdom for getting the arm out of the shaft, , thanks ,,,,Sam

I had to take mine off this morning and it was a bugger,, 
The throttle cable broke under the dash,, I could get the dash part way up but couldn't reconnect the cable with it still in place,, I ended up beating mine off... Then I had to file it a lot to get it to go in and out smoothly..
I can tell you one thing NOT to do,, don't use heat,,, I melted the upper plastic bushing and hmmm now the lights won't work,, :confused2:..
But it's all back together and works fine now,, 4 hours later ..
