I have a RC48 G20S deck. The four acres I mow is very rough due to night crawlers. This tends to beat the deck to death. Has anyone modified the deck from ground contact to a suspended deck? If so how has it worked out?

The deck and to a greater extent the g1900 is not designed for a suspension. I suspect that anything you come up with will not work too well. Does your's have the spring kit at the rear of the deck? That takes a little weight off and should cushion the deck somewhat. If not then just buy a couple good size springs (50-75 pounds each about 5" long) and mount them between the deck and the frame to take some of the weight off the wheels.

Was the deck spring kit something that Kubota sold at one time?

It came with th 60" deck on my G1900 in 1992. Part no. 76505-027-10 or 76505-034-11 don't think they are available any longer. Good luck. You can go to kubotabooks.com and pull up some pics.
