G3038 vs R3039

Major differences.... the R3039 has the following the G series does not:

  • Suspesion Seat
  • Rubber Floor Mat
  • Rear Remote (dual) hydraulics
  • 4 cylinder Mitsubishi engine (vs the 3 cyl LS brand)
  • Ergonomic Loader controls
  • Higher Loader Capacity
  • Synchronized 4 speed transmission (high-medium-low still is not)
  • Draft Control

I might have missed something, but those are key.

The loader control is a HUGE one, as on the R series its out of the way, so you can get on/off the tractor on both sides. Its also VERY comfortable to run, where as the G its kind of hanging out in space at a strange location/angle.

The remote hydraulics are another major point. It would probably cost you close to the $2k difference just to add those to the G tractor. You may not have a need for them now... but be sure its likely you will!

The suspension seat has its ups and downs (no pun intended!!... well maybe!) While its a much nicer ride.... it doesnt flip up to dump water off!! This caused me to make room in my 'garage-in-a-box' for the tractor... so I am not sure its a 'bad' thing.

It was these points that jumped me from the G3033 to the R3039. It wasnt a HP thing for me, as much as this list. The loader capacity was probably close to the top for me too. As it is, I feel my loader is a little under powered....

Hope this helps,
Mike

ALSO REAR WORK LIGHT AND THE TRAILER PLUG ON THE REAR,

ALSO TELESCOPIC ARMS ON THE 3 POINT

I purchased the R3039H a few months ago. I considered the G3038 as well. The reasons I opted for the R3039 are these:

1. 2 port hydraulics. Makes possible top and tilt on box scraper. A major reason for the tractor purchase.

2. Location of the loader control. Retired after 40 years construction, specificly heavy equipment. The loader control on the 3038 makes no sense.

3. Operator comfort. A huge difference

If you have a lot of mowing you will LOVE the cruise control on the hydrostatic trans.

For the extra $2K I'd definitely go with the 3039...it's a big jump in capability for a relatively small price increase. Tractors shrink when you get them home, and with my little 15 acres I still more than max out my 4047 (FEL work mostly) on a regular basis. I was moving fill dirt yesterday and thinking how nice it would be if the bucket were twice as big so it would save me time

Hello, I'm a newbie I am looking real hard at the LS G3038H vs LS R3039H with Loader & quick-attach. How much of a price difference should it be? I love the specs on both but am worried about buying an unknown brand. I would appreciate any input from anyone. I have been looking at the NH T1520 & NH Boomer 35 & JD 3038E & Kubota L3800 HST. Also, any thoughts on TYM Tractors?
Thanks

Also, my Wife wants me to buy a Tractor that is manufactured in the USA. Do I have any choices?

There is none in the Cut market that I'm aware of. The Boomer is a LS. Try a Kioti if you have a Dealer close to you.

Underdog57, It should be around a $2k difference considering you are comparing price with the same trans option.

Thank-you, so much mangus580. I learned so much on TBN. I am leaning very hard towards LS R3039H or LS R4041H . What are the differences between the 2 ? What is a good price for a R4041H ? The LS appears to be a great tractor, I have not read much negative on LS tractors, every body seems to be very happy with their units.
