did you make baskets or just make a large unit out of two panels? I saw a cool privacy wall/panel made of gabion style. It was framed with 4 x 4 posts and the mesh panels were spaced maybe 3" apart and filled with nice river rock

For me, I just used the panels and sucked them together every vertical 12" with 12 gauge galvanized wire. If I had to do it all over again, I would've used field fence or something on the bottom to make it a true basket. It is a retaining wall on the down hill edge of a chile and tomato field (40x70).
But right now I'm putting actual baskets together made from concrete mesh from HD (5'x3'). Time is an issue but I can get about two of them together every other day after work. Again, I'll send pix soon.
My rock gabion is a 4'x4' square. It was made out of a 16' x 4' expanded metal shelf. Just nicked the support angles at 4' intervals and folded it into a square. It sits square on the ground and is filled with native boulders. It is my NW property corner and the barbed wire fencing attaches to it also.
