Gee...while on the subject of batteries.....the one in my JD 2520 decided to not be a battery anymore today. It started just fine this morning when I pulled it out of the garage. When I tried to restart it.....the starter made just one short grunt then nothing. I put a load tester on it and it screamed...BAD BAD BAD!! Removed it and headed to the local auto parts store....they had nothing on the shelf of that particular size. I cringed at the thought but headed to the JD dealer.......$97 dollars later and we are back in business. The battery I took out was 4.5 years old.....I am sort of OK with that term of longevity.
