Game Camera Question

   / Game Camera Question #11
Got my first ever game camera, Moultrie D50 and have some questions.

I set it up per the owners manual ...

1.) In the auto mode should you see the flash? (In the Dark)
2.) Event delay ... I can choose 1 min, 5 min, 10 minute or 60 min ... What does this mean and what setting are you folks using?
3.) Multi Shots ... 1 shot, 2 shot or 3 shot ... same question?

Thanks
blueriver, Go to chasingame.com (yes, one "g"). It is specifically a trail camera forum and even has a select Moultrie sub-forum that I know you will find interesting and informative.
I have a Reconyx HC600 and am having a ball with it every time I read out the card.

The wife just got back from checking one of ours ... turns out the squirrels took a liking to the wire between the 12v battery and the camera ... so no pictures ... boo

I guess I don't have any wildlife ... since my orginal post ... Nothing, but the dogs, the grandson or myself are the only things I have taken pictures of !!!!

I have two cameras, one uses D cell, the other C cell batteries. The price of these batteries have got out of hand lately so I use rechargeable batteries now. The charger and batteries paid for themselves in a few months. Don't get Eveready, they are useless.

Ya might want to look into getting a 12v battery (if available) ... they last 6 months at a go and are rechargeable.

As for not seeing stuff on the cam, if there is a sensitivity setting, try raising it so you can catch smaller things ... I know mine will pick up rabbit sized animals (heck even birds)

I don't think its batteries or settings ... I'm getting pictures, just no wildlife. So today I pulled out the old feeder, the salt block ... set things up with the hopes of calling all things wild!! I know it will take some time for the critters to realize I am feeding them ... BTW the most important thing here is the Grandson I am raising ...(some of you may recall) 13 and just passed his FAS training ... so its time for grandpa to get back into things ... Darn I like being young again!!!!

Anybody tried one of those SOLAR panels linked to a car battery?
Sportsmans Guide is selling a tree mount for a battery box and the panel.....should go indefinately.;) Doncha just love that word...indefinately...has a nice ring, like "no more taxes"....

I have 3 cams..one uses a rechargeable 6v lantern battery. One uses D cells and one uses C cells.
I hate C cells...cost the same as D's and die much quicker.
I had 2 6V golf cart batteries in series for a 12v supply at my camp, one died so the other is now at the base of the tree with the C cell camera...only have to charge it with a portable generator and my batt charger every few months:D
The 6v lantern battery camera is an earlier Moultrie that is now about worthless, the motion detection on it is very sorry, never was good but has gotten worse. It is a visible strobe flash.
My other 2 are IR flash, I like that because if I catch a night pic of a trespasser I don't want him knowing it and taking or destroying the camera.

As for the multishot feature I don't like the way it operates on any of the 3 cameras, too long a delay between pics for me..digital shots are free so I say fire away, I'd like to see it take maybe 10 shots, one every few seconds. I do use the video shot feature a lot on my Wildgame Innovations camera. My other 2 are Moultrie.

It seems nobody is seeing many deer, turkeys, or even raccoons at their feeders this year. The corn just mostly collects on the ground. Here's a picture of the local "ladies of the evening" who came to visit before the acorns started to fall.:D
