my LP hrl3578 box scraper is not listed by LP as QH compatible.

For now my desires for a qh are on hold partly because even if I could get my BB to work with a QH I'd want it to be cat 2, yet some of the implements I have in mind yet are cat 1 only.

fyi, my BB came from LP with the standard teeth (which aren't as tough as I expected) but turns out LP no longer sells those tips, only the wider ones. Kind of weird that one cannot buy matching replacement parts for a new $4k implement. Mixed tips not the end of the world, but it surprised me that LP ships that high end BB with tips which are laready discontinued.

Interesting that its not QH compatable I had already kind of looked past the LP because of the Horsepower rating.

looking at the Gannon they say it is QH compatable "Faster, easier and safer hook-ups with ASAE quick-hitch compatibility" That is odd that they would ship it with something they know is going to break especially coming from land pride.

With my hrl3578 the qh issue is probably the top link and the way the hydraulics are designed. Probably solvable if someone were smarter than me...

In terms of HP, my BB itself is monster strong looking. I supposed the scarifier mounting is probably the weakest link (aside from the too soft teeth which showed wear and some breakage even in the first couple hours. I posted pic of the teeth some time ago)

I went ahead and ordered the Gannon 88" today as everyone had good things to say about them although not sure if anyone actually owns a similar model.

I also ordered the work saver QH. I hope I don't regret this decision over not getting the landpride. But the way I see it they are pretty simple and even the cheap Chinese hazard fraught models works well enough for people. (I try to avoid chinese made stuff) I'm sure the worksaver will be good enough.

Hi TripleR,
I remember you said the landpride will anchor your M8540 without much effort. Both of these boxes are within about 1 cuf of each other. If if bought the LP With my luck I would hit one of the big boulders buried in the red clay and rip a shank right of the box and landpride wouldn't warranty it because I was using to much tractor.

It's to bad landpride doesn't offer anything bigger than 84" gannon makes up to 92" in the HSD and 96" in the HXD line. Thought briefly of going to the 92"

Yeah, if I had the money. I would have the HR3584 for the L5784 and a wider, heavier Gannon for the M8540, maybe even a 92". Now when we are using both tractors, I put my old BB2584 on the L5740 and HR3584 on the M8540 or the HR3584 on the L5740 and 10' drag scraper on the M8540; could get more done with two good, heavy duty box scrapers with all the hydraulics.

Sadly my wants/needs exceed my $$$$ by a significant amount.

I am sure you will be very happy with the Gannon.

Our wants/needs always exceed our funds for some unknown reason. Every time I read on here there is something else that I want or need. Someday will get a new box blade

You mentioned you have "self cancelling valve" This is great for grapple use. Ready to close the grapple, move the valve to detent. It closes and springs to neutral. Ready to open the grapple, move the valve to detent and it opens and springs to neutral. You do not have to keep you hand on the valve handle and can switch back to the loader joystick sooner to lift, lower, dump, or curl

Many many chores where it is nicer, quicker, easier to have a self canceling control valve.

Congrats. You will be able to get some serious work done with that box blade. The quick hitch will really nice with a hydraulic toplink.

Definitely hard to justify a second one when you already have one that works especially as you say have wants that exceed your $$$,$$$,$$$ My want list is quite large as well .

How well does your M8540 pull the 10' drag scraper my buddy down the road has talked about getting one to help maintain the 3/4 of a mile or so of private road he lives at the end of.

Thanks Roger,

Thats the plan i wanted a big tractor get more done in less time. The only draw back to my plan was that the implements especially the ground engaging ones cost lots more than those for say a 50 hp tractor. I've also had a harder time finding used implements for my tractor. We have lots of tractor dealers in the area but most of the ones with a 50 mile radius don't stock more than 60 or 70 hp tractors with 30-40 hp ones being their bread and butter.

I'm really looking forward to the quick hitch and hydraulic top link. I hate wasting the 20 - 30 minutes it takes to swap out implements especially the ones without clevis style pins like my log splitter that require you to screw around with the stabilizers .
