Hey guys,
Ive been at it hot and heavy today .Its funny ,in reading your new posts ,ive been incorperating your ideas in .Today i dug all 3 holes ,carefully not to disturb my cement posts[did near them by hand ]I built and installed 2 of 3 forms and installed,[i just need to add some more rebar] Where that the door pulls down on the inside of the walls ,i ran the forms past and tied into the cement posts like you said.
I have added 6 inchs more of gravel to the existing gravel floor.I lined the inside of the barn with 2 by 6 pt to keep it off my walls to prevent rot.I put the top of my forms even with this .I did this so i can have more down ward slope outside the garage, its a landscaping thing. So being that when i pour a floor someday ,i can take out some gravel,or pour over the frost wall.which ever is best. That aint happening for a while, ill reinstall my wire mat for now.
I am not using ready mix ,im using 96 lb bags of portland and mixing to my own specs.I have already recieved the mixing materials.I picked up 20 bags this morning. It might be a little more than i need[or not] but i want to pour an apron in front of the barn when im done.Im gonna be a mixing fool tommorow.
Ok next question. What is the recommended slope of the apron? Can i have one solid 24 ft apron or should i split it? REBAR OR CONCRETE WIRE?
Can i use some 2 by 4s for the form is this thick enough to drive over?
HERES A COUPLE PICS OF TODAY.Ill be checking in regular for your thoughts thank you! You guys knew i couldnt resist the seat time and digging some big holes didnt you HA HA
