Garage Kits?

A question , was looking around in building centers and have seen quite a few Garage kits, all the stuff you need in one bax basically, and wondered if it is really a better buy than getting the materials as you go.

For an example it is a wood garage kit complete from siding to shingles.

Several years ago I checked int the kits and anytime I wanted something that was better than the kit or a different size they hit you hard on the pricing. I had them price me out a garage 36x40 x16 and they came back with a price of $19k that was 2x4 construction a 12x12 overhead door 1 man door and 2 windows just the shell. I built it by myself 2x6 construction 14x14 garage door (top of the line) 1 man door 4 windows completely insulated and sheet rocked and a thicker Alaskan slab 4500 mix for $17k.
We have a lumber yard in the area that is more than competitive with the big box lumber yards and they deliver for free as far as the windows and doors look around for deals before you build you can get extremely good deals on those that people order wrong or are discontinued so you can frame them in accordingly because the windows and doors that come with the kits are the bottom of the line.
