Garden Boxes

Wife wanted these forever so I got a deal on some Cedar (1$ a foot for 2 X 12 Rough Cut).

Leveled the area, dropped these down. Then the wife swings buy and asks for them to be 6" buried. UGH. Now she wants a deer fence.

Cannot win.

She may change her tune if she has to help you make her happy.

Shortly after we moved in, my wife thought it would be a good idea to plant flowers for color. I replied, "Are you going to take care of them?"

Her response was "No" and I said, "Then we're not planting flowers."

I like color and I can admire well done gardens and landscaping; but I have no skill or interest in gardening.

Real nice boxes, deep too. There was a good episode of gardeing by the yard (tv show) that showed how to get the raised beds off to a good start. He layered them, I think it was dirt, compost, straw, dirt compost straw.
Deer fence needed here too. Hd/lowes has the landscape timbers on sale for 1.97 every now and then, I use those.

Tell her if you bury them it will be harder on her back to bend down to tend to them. Nice boxes, good luck!

I did and I didn't. I hired the neighbors kid. He came over, brought a ditching shovel, and had it done in a day. And the beauty of the whole deal is that I took all the credit. Guess that is why I am a producer. Moral compass of a 2 year old.

Oh, and by buried, I meant just down 6", not 6" showing.
