Oh Thomas; you know how to hurt. The Doctor told me to cut down on salt!

I cut down on salt and started using salt substitute to lower my sodium. Now my potassium is too darn high because of the salt substitute. You just can't win in this game.

Hunterridgefarm: Just 1600 pumpkins? I told my wife we should plant some pumpkins, and she asked me what I was going to do with them.

Two-three years ago I planted 1200 pumpkins. I gathered about 150 one weekend for family and friends and was going to donate the rest to a youth group at church. That was when a hurricane came up through the Gulf and and flooded the NC mountains. The river washed about 3500 pumpkins down the river. When we went back to the field there was 1 pumpkin in the middle.

For weeks after that I would here people and emergency crews that were blocking off bridges where the water was over them talk about all these orange balls floating down the river . I would just say...yes they were my pumpkins and next year you should be able to find wild pumpkins growing all alone the Catawba river basin

Just the way I like it except sometimes I will put a slice of cheese on the tomato in the toster oven and let it melt on the tomato.

Those descriptions of sandwiches are making me hungry. I'm going to have to order seeds today and get a Sow ready to farrow so's I can start working on the bacon. Guess I'll need a milk cow/goat ?? for the cheese!!

My wife & I are quite fond of bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches, and we, too, usually put a slice of cheese on them, but have never melted the cheese. I prefer my tomato and cheese cold. And we also only use Miracle Whip; never buy real mayonnaise. And while these store bought tomatoes ain't bad, they sure don't have the flavor the home grown, vine ripened ones have.

You got that right. And the ones from the store usually have large fluid filled seed pockets where those from the garden have more meat and much smaller seed pockets.
