Are you remotely aware of how many vegetables you're going to have!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif You're going to be over run with vegetables!! I planted 4 yellow squash, 3 zucchini, 6 tomato's and 6 peppers. I already can't keep up with the squash and zucchini. I'm contemplating having zucchini and squash on my cereal in the morning. It would make a nice compliment to the zucchini and squash smoothies, the zucchini and squash casaroles, the zucchini and squash stir fry, boiled zucchini and squash, steamed zucchini and squash etc. etc.

Have I mentioned that I'm getting sick of zucchini and squash?? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Maybe we'll open up Bubba Gump's Squash Restaurant. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm also worried that I'll suddenly have bushels of tomotoes here in about two weeks. Just look at the tomatoes hanging on these plants. I've pulled one-third to one-half the tomatoes off the early girls and celebrities, but they are still going nuts. The grape tomatoes on the right have hundreds of small dime-sized tomatoes. We do have lots of relatives, so maybe we can coax them to take some of this stuff when it starts producing. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

( And the squash race has slowed down. I started with 5 great looking plants. One plant at one end suddenly wilted and died. Now two plants at the opposite end have wilted. Can't find any sign of significant insects. Don't know what happened. )

Bill, I lost three very nice spaghetti squash plants a couple of weeks ago when it was very windy. They had huge leaves that acted like parachutes and broke the tender stems off at ground level. They just instantly wilted and died. If you don't think wind is your problem, I think I'd be looking for a mole or something eating the roots. With the hot weather, anything that keeps the plant from taking up a lot of moisture will surely kill it. I can't think of anything else that would cause the plants to wilt and die quickly. Normally even honeydew on melons can be spotted and the leaves pinched off before it spreads. Do squash catch honeydew? I don't remember. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
