Gas Additives?

If you dont have a gas burner, we've had good luck with Stabil brand fuel treatment, though any would do.. ) )</font>

Be careful what you put in your tank (car)for adds. These adds can sometime end up in your oil.

I wouldn't be too concerned about gas quality unless it's REALLY old. I was just getting my 94 Saturn ready to tow behind my motor home when we go camping in a couple weeks. I checked the log and I filled it up October 2004 at $1.99 per gallon and have driven it only 17 miles since then. The fuel system is sealed and with fuel injection there is no float bowl to collect varnish. The car seems to run fine. You never know how long gasolene has been sitting in storage tanks when you buy it either.

Bob B, I couldn't agree more. Just today I was driving my kids around on my inlaw's kawasaki bayou 220 ATV. It's had the SAME tank of gas for 2yrs /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. Obviously it doesn't get used too much, just sits in the garage collecting dust. The thing is like new. It started right up (pull start, battery is shot) and ran like a top. I think it all depends on what the gas is in & what it is subjected to. Sitting in a clean, sealed container, it's good for a loooooooong time.
G/luck

When I say sealed good, I mean no vents open. It doesn't matter if the container is plastic as long as all the lids and vents are sealed tight so that the fuel is not exposed even a little to the atmosphere.

When storing a container that is sealed tight, make sure it stays in the shade.

Yes, I know where Stephenville is. I've been there many times, but the reformulated gas is sold pretty far out in some directions but not very far in other directions.

There's not much of a way to know if it is sold there are not.

Good luck,
Doc

I agree on the gas parts. Now the adds in gas again sometimes end up in the oil. Do an oil test after you add some adds to your fuel and watch the spike in wear and other areas in the engine oil. It happens, just letting you know.

I know my bike runs like crap after it has "sleep" for 5 months during the winter. So I dump the gas and add more 94.
