Did you check the relief outlet on the regulator(if it has one). A leaking diaphragm will show up there. Not common but it does happen. I believe the tank valves have a back seat so you have to turn all the on the prevent leaks around the valve stem.

Larry, I just took a tank and exchanged it and it was full. Apparently the auto fill shut off is stuck shut and won't feed gas. Funny, I just had the tank filled too. New tank works fine. Stuff happens.

Ron

Turn it upside down.

I just have to mention what happened to me once. A spider built a web inside one of my burners and kept the gas from going into the burner, instead it flowed outside the orifice and ignited around the burner entrance. SO the first thing I would do is remove all your burners, blow them out good with compressed air, clean around the gas valve orifice tip and reinstall. With the burners removed, it is a good time to check the valve for leaking connections.

Good point. Some grills used to include a stiff wire meant for that very reason...spiders. I'm sure that spider check is still included in the instruction manual.

Correct on the "back seat". Internal spring loaded stopper that requires the hose be completely seated in the valve housing. I was reminded on that just last Sunday when I put a new tank on to cook the Easter turkey.
