Gas & oil consumption

I am curious how much gas and oil consumption other PT425 owners are experiencing. How many hours to tank of gas? How many hours to a quart of oil?

My fuel consumption is somewhere between one and one and a half gallons per hour working hard at full throttle.

Oil consumption has dropped from maybe an ounce per hour during the first few days, to insignificant after about 95 hours of operation.

My usage style ranges from (rarely) puttering along just above idle as a powered wheelbarrow, through mowing with the 60" deck at full throttle on moderate slopes, to very hard digging in heavily rock-infested clay.

My fuel consumption for my 422 probably averages about one gallon per hour. I usually operate at 3/4 or less throddle. My oil consumption is nill , I don't think I have ever added any oil between changes, I have had my 422 for a little over 5 years and have 725 hours on it.

4-5 hours per tank (5 gallons) on average and I run full throttle most of the time.

Engine oil consumption is zero on the 3.5 year old Kohler.

Hydraulic oil consumption is tiny, due to disconnecting hoses when changing implements. I'd say almost un-measurable. It is made up every 50 hours when you lose a quart or so changing the filter.

Oil consumption on my 425 is negligible. I get 4+ hours on a tank of gas.

Great! This is a topic I have been wondering about too. The 425 (Robin engine) seems like kind of a gas hog, but I guess it is in line with every one else's. I get about 4-5 hours mowing at full-throttle, and oil usage is minimal at 82 hours.

4 to 5 hours on a tank of gas (1 gallon/hour) and oil consumption is nil. I change oil every 50 hours and all filters at 50 hours.

Interesting! I'll have to start paying closer attention, but I think I'm going through about a gallon per hour with the 1850... I must be too optimistic... Anybody else with some similar machines want to chime in?

Hi Mike. I think we are getting better milage with diesel. I haven't checked that close, but know I can run about all day on a tank with the 1430.

I agree. I've put about 25 hours on my new PT and I've only filled the tank twice, although most of those 25 hours are from loader work.
