Gas put in a John Deere 950 DIESEL. LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS

I guess maybe I was being overly cautious. My limited knowledge of this were people who ran them more than such a short time--thus my overkill.
Sounds like you've got the voices with far more experience than mine...

I have a friend who rus a diesel repair shop, in the winter when he gets a call that a trucks fuel is gelled the first thing he does is dump 5 gallons of gasoline in the trucks diesel fuel tank to thin down the diesel. Granted he is dumping 5 gal gas into probably 50 + gallons of diesel. Drain your tank, refill with diesel, bleed the lines only if have to to get started, let it idle for 10 minutes and for get it happened.

The tractor is in GA. I had this tractor given to me by my daughters employer. Gas was put in by another employee,after that happened, he bought a new JD. I will be going to pick the tractor up in a few weeks, after everything that everyone has said, my intentions are to flush it out start it up and drive it on the trailer. This is my first diesel and I'm excited. I do thank everyone for the help. I will post an update in a few weeks. Thanks.

I have heard of gas blowing the tips off injectors but have also heard many times of no damage. Just make sure to do a thorough flush before starting.:thumbsup:

sounds like you got a good price on that one:thumbsup: hopefully she works out for you and all is well.. Those 50 series are IMHO the most durable compacts JD ever made... not the most hp or bells and whistles.. just everything about them is built better than anything they've (yanmar) built since then..
