I have gas vapors and liquid coming out of the carb throat on a Kohler Magnum 8 hp on a cub 122. I have pulled the head and all valves and compression release look ok and are working. I have also installed new carb and adjusted.
Is it possible for the automatic compression release to hang and be letting exhaust gas back into carb? The carb bowl get very warm after running. Also could one of the valves be sticking at heating up (which one). The engine runs good at higher speeds but continues to blow vapor and blows vapor and liquid gas at idle before stalling.
My next step is to pull the valves but they are working properly when turning engine over by hand.
