gate latches

Anyone use these latches from Northern Tool? I am just curious why they are less than half the price as these from TSC? Are the ones from TSC better or just more expensive?

I can't speak for the Northern Tool version but I do have that style on a couple of gates and like the design. Can even use them horse back.

I also have those latches and they work great. The do need some lube every now and then. What's funny is I bought one at the Co-op and then found the exact same latches at Southen States (one mile down the road) for half the price. In my opinion TSC is high on a lot of things that you can find at other places.

TSC tends to cater to the "horse owner" and jacks their prices up on a lot of items that you can find elsewhere for less. JMO

You've got that right FireFighter! If it says "horse" on it it's going to be higher priced! I've seen the type they're catering to....flashy tack, got to have every gadget, just learned to sit a horse, in it for the show, gives "Sweety" snacks when she does good!

Sorry, anyway, back to the gate latches!

How ironic. I just ordered latches from my local co op and they shipped me this type. I'd never even seen latches like this before and now here they are on TBN. I have not used them but they look good to me. They cost me 22.99 each which seems pretty rich though. I better get my danged sheep a paper route.

I like them and purchase from here, lots cheaper than Trashy Skyrocketing Costs stores.
