Gatlinburg

Yes I recognoze the view. They've just about got 4 lanes finshed all the way through "downtown" Seymour now. Thats another great thing about Seymour, the view.
Depending on where I start out at, Chapman Hwy (441) is my prefered entrance to the tourist mecca. I know a few shortcuts from that direction.
That property has probably appreciated 100 fold. I'd love to build a cabin anywhere with those boundaries you've outlined :D

I can barely remember when Chapman Hwy was a 2-lane in Sevier County. For years, Seymour had one caution light and NO red lights... :p

I looked for land in Seymour a couple years back when I was getting ready to buy my retirement site -- and couldn't readily afford anything that was easily buildable and more than a couple acres. Went over to Walland and fell in love with, and bought a larger tract in a gated community over there... MUCH quieter! Because Seymour is now a "bedroom community" for Knoxville, you can buy a lot in Townsend in the mountains for about the price of a lot in Seymour...

BTW, you get much better views from Mt Leconte looking toward Seymour, rather than looking up at it... Unless I'm mistaken, that's Ford Hill in the background of this view. If not Ford Hill, it must be the next ridge, that Porterfield Gap cuts through on the Knox county line...

First time in Gatlinburg was when I was coming through on the A.T.

Hitched a ride from the dome to town and had a GREAT time at night. That said, now that I live in N.C, you couldn't PAY me to visit that tourist trap. Last time there was with an old girlfriend, there on a friday night, and I swear, I missed the hotel and went through town and it took me probably about a good hour to get back. Felt like doing a "Death Race 2000" on those sidewalks.

Can you tell I don't like crowds:)
