I do not know if this is helpful or not, but I used my new diesel Gator for the first time this weekend to move snow. I have a 72" Eagle Plow and Ramsey 3000 pound winch. When I say move snow, I mean it. I plow my drive, which is about 500' and a small service road to the main road, which is nothing more than a paved logging trail. It is about 1.5 miles in length. I live at about 4000' feet, and have many hills of 20+% grade here with steeper pitches and sharp curves. It is tough plowing. We received about 9" snow this weekend and the Gator amazed me. I put 420# (10 42#) quick attach weights in the back for ballast and off I went. The Gator plowed everything I could come up against, without faltering. I put about 14 hours on the machine (which included doing several driveways for neighbors) and did that plowing on less than five gallons diesel. In fact, I think I still have almost one gallon still in the tank. To me, if one has a lot to plow, the Gator or I am sure equivalent competitive UTV is the way to go. I really enjoyed plowing with my old 595, but with an eight MPH top speed, it could not go as fast. My older 3720 would plow well too, but I avoided some areas due to sliding and dying concerns. The Gator achieves a nice comprimise, as it plows as well as a big tractor, but is as confidence-inspiring as a small one on hills, but much faster.
