Gator XUV 550?

Anyone here given the new XUV550 a test run yet? If so, thoughts?

It is air cooled and carbed, but seem more offroad worthy than some.

When I looked at the 825i sometime back one thing that worried me was the location of the air intake. Seemed like it would be easy to get dust and/or water in it. I wonder if they changed that. On the 550?

It is a very capable mid-duty machine. 28mph top speed, 16hp v-twin, tuned for quick acceleration (0-15mph in 3.2 seconds) and snappy throttle response, feels faster than it is. Not as heavily built as the 625/825/855 but was not meant to be an HD unit. Great suspension, rides better (IMHO) than the Mule and Club Car. RTV500 ride is close but the RTV is very slow to accelerate and I really do not like the hydro tranny. CVT with rear diff lock, four-wheel hydraulic disk brakes, "wide arch" dual A-arm front suspension w/adjustable shocks and anti-roll bars. Independent H-arm rear suspension with control link and adjustable coil over shock. 9" front, 8" rear suspension travel, 1100# towing, 800# payload capacity. Here are a few photos. BTW, to answer one of your original questions, the air intakes (for air cleaner and CVT) are in completely different areas from the HD XUV models.
