I just added the Front & Rear, Deere (Mauser) windows on my 09' 850D. I didn't get the wiring kit for the windshield wiper feeling I could do it myself for a lot less than the $100 bill the dealer wanted for it. However I can't see how they would route the +12V up into the overhead where the switches go. I thought there must be a routing hole somewhere in that deluxe cab structure, but I'll be ***** if I can find it.

Is there anyone out there with the JD factory installed front windshield that can tell me where they snaked the hot lead from the battery (or wherever) up to where the wiper switch is?

Thanks in Advance for any help.

I have the 07 deluxe cab, assume the same, with Mauser front windshield and wiper. If I recall the wiring came from the battery to the lower back passenger corner side of the cab to the area where the switches mount. The door corner of the cab is hollow from that back area all the way around the upper door channel to the overhead panel that holds the switches. I wrapped the end of the harness with electric tape and pushed it all the way up. That wiring kit if I recall provides power to a number of options in that overhead switch panel. That main feed powers JD fused switches for the wipers, front and rear roof lights, and becon. Each JD switch has its own fuse and double lugs on there feed side so you can add options as you go.

Craig,

I'll give it a look this PM when I get home. I'd been figuring the wiring would have gone up one of the front channels of the cab frame, but there were no feed holes there, and when you said it I realized the battery is under the "passenger" seat. Now that's a long way to snake a wire but I don't want to be drilling holes that aren't necessary.

Thanks. I'll let you know what I find.

I think I kept all the option install guides in a folder for the XUV. I think there was one for that wiring kit. I can look for it this evening if need be.

By the way. When I ordered I got the front glass as one item. I got the soft doors and with them came the soft roll up rear window. Did you order the rear glass window by itself? At the time you had to get the door kit to get the rear window unless you ordered it as a part. Is your rear window a slider by chance?

I have never been impressed with the visibility of the soft doors and rear window. I have always took good care of them and the XUV is in the garage when not in use but they appear chalky and hard to see out off. I have cleaned them and still the same issue. That kit was pricy.

I have the full glass mauser cab and the wiring also is at the rear of the passenger seat. I like the full glass cab, I take the doors off in the summer. I also have the heater for winter.

Craig,

I didn't get the doors. Just the two windows. I got the front from my dealer and the rear off eBay. The rear is a tilt out like the front. I looked at a couple of soft door/plexi-type windshields and just wasn't impressed. I would recommend the Deere glass stuff to anyone. Yes pricey, but I think cheaper in the long run.

If you have the installation docs for the wiring I'd like to see a copy if you could. I see where I could feed up and over but it was too cold last night to take down the the switch panel to see if there's an outfeed hole or do I have to put one in myself.

Thanks,

I will look for the install document tonight. Got tied up moving snow last night. ) There should be a place behind the switch panel for the wire to come out. I didn't have to make a hole.
