Does anyone have a set of plans to add gauge wheels on a BB. I did a search for gauge, but it kept finding threads on instrument gauges, so I thought I would just ask.

Keep looking, a guy from N Cal. posted some pics of one he built. I copied them. It works well if you use a chain for the top link. bcs

Mornin DCS,
I believe Homebrew has done this, maybe he will jump in and show you what he did !

Pretty sure it was MadReferee that added a nice set too.

You obviously didn't look hard enough. There have been several very good threads on building gauge wheels. Here is a link to a post I made a few years ago on how I made my own landscape rake gauge wheels. The arms that the wheels are mounted on can be adjusted to any length you want from the rear of the tines. All you have to do is drill new holes. BTW, I made the rake too.

These gauge wheels can easily be adapted to a BB or any other ground engaging implement.

This is what I put together. The wheels are from bush hogs.

DCS, you have all there is to know about gauge wheels from the replys so far ... oops, you could search for users Barnboy and SCB too ... nothing new but good reading.
Cheers!

Thanks for the help. It looks like most of the gauge wheels have a "fixed" height. What would be the ideal height for say spreading sand or gravel?

If you build them right you can add or subtract shims to adjust the height which would make them ten times more useable. Well, ten times more useable if you had ten different height adjustments anyway!!! :D
