In the Off-Road Truck industry they use a wide elastic band around the gauges to reduce most vibrations that make it to the gauge itself. How that works I do not know but in a truck is appears to work well.
There are Plastic Pods for different vehicles that can be mod壇 to fit your dash contour.
I used a Mustang Gauge Pod on my last Ranger and it worked out OK.
The volt meter may only tell you that you have 12-14 volts in the battery.
if the alternator goes bad the battery will still read 12-14 volts for a while.
The older style Amp Gauges were the thing to have off the Alternator for reading good or bad.
Tachdriver,
Nice job on that mount. It looks real professional. Now that it has been a year and a half, how are those gauges holding up? I'm thinking about putting an analog tachometer on my BX2350 and I'm wondering if marine gauges are needed on a tractor.
Thay have held up real well. Iwash my tractor wvery now and then and they fog a little during the wash, but dry right out in the sun. No problems with vibrations - I love em.
Good to hear they are holding up well. I've been thinking of adding an egt, boost, and hydraulic temperature gauge to my 5240. I just wish someone made a mount of some sort.
