Gauges to supplement the dummy lights would be very cool. Others on TBN have done it, but I've been a bit reluctant to try. The mini-gauges might actually fit somewhere on my tiny dash. I'm looking for some encouragement. Is this a project you plan to tackle??

I've already done this, months ago. But "someone" left the radiator cap loose and the Yanmar overheated bad. The present water temp gauge will not go below 190° when cold. I was looking for a replacement for this one made in China, I saw that Sunpro had them on clearance. I'll see if I can dig up the post that has my pics of it.

Here is a link to the pics of mine. I turned the gauges so I could read them at operating temp/pressure when I was in the seat.

Did you install that bottom row of gauges? They look great...like they were put there by MF. Were your gauges in an array, like the mini-Sunpros, or were they individual units? Very nice!

Was installation much trouble?

All 4 guages at the bottom were what I installed. The oil pressure, water temp, and ammeter came as a set (from Wal-Mart). I bought the voltmeter separatly from the manufacturer/importer.
Installation was not that hard for me, I used an electricians knock-out set to punch the holes. Had to order adapters from SunPro to get the oil gauge installed though.

I put 2" guages in my yanmar - $15 from Sunpro for oil press and water temp. here's the link.... I followed inspecto507's lead. I'll try to post pictures.

I have been thinking it would be good to replace the idiot light(s) with real gauges on my Kubota, but since the engine fittings are all metric, what do you do to hook up mechanical gauges? The Sunpro site says they don't have metric stuff available... Their garage sale prices are real tempting.

Sunpro has a metric kit listed on their site and thats what I needed to connect one of the original gauges.
Sunpro . Sixth listing down on this page.
I had to order it as no one stocked it locally around here.

You're correct: I had just noticed on one of their gauge blurbs that no metric adaptors were available, but I didn't take the time to really look over the whole site. Their stuff is good quality, you think? I hate it when I buy cheap, only to regret it two years later, when things rust and fail.
