Wacky, I didn't think pics were necessary. I guess I can take a pic of the old blade and one of the new, and the center hole adapters.

Once I have the new blades installed and tested I will report back. I just sharpened my existing blades so there is no rush for me to install right now.

blackd, I'd like to see too... My back-fill soil is ALL sand (the price was right-- free), and I also find that's really hard on mower blades.

So far mine are holding up, but I did just swap the left blade for the right when I serviced the deck last week, as the tips on the far right blade are beginning to show some pretty good wear.... I can see it's only a matter of time before I'm going to want new blades.

Well I finally got the technology issues straight on getting pictures and down loading. Pic 1 shows left 2 YO blade, middle 1 YO, and the new Landpride blade W insert. Pic 2 is the new blade and insert. I tried to show the wear on the blades and the packaging for the inserts.

It's so hot and dry here, I don't know when I will put the new blades on the tractor. But at least you can see what they look like

Well, its time to update. Cut the yard for the last time yesterday. Will drop the deck and get ready to install the snow blower (that means we will not have any ya'no). The new blades worked great. I still do not know how well they held up. Will see after dropping the deck. Here's the real heads up. I installed the2 blades per spindle (new blades and the old blades), and that really worked well. Starting the deck will really slow the RPMs until they come up to speed, but they cut well. That's especially true when cutting the tougher weeds that grow here SoMD. Some fields would require two passes, but with this configuration I cut in one pass, and if necessary slow down.

I will be buying another set of those Oregon 91-854 blades with adapter 02-452 this Winter. I'll just wait for a sale/discount coupon.

Good to know-- thanks!

Well, blackd, I finally got around to servicing my MMM and digging out the snowblower last week.... Do I understand you correctly that you put two blades on each spindle like a "plus" sign? Interesting.

My blades are showing some pretty good wear now, but not as severe as yours. I've used the deck now for three seasons, I think.. maybe four, so the wear factor isn't terrible, but I still like the idea of avoiding $40 per blade. I can see where I'll be wanting some blades pretty soon.

Crossed blades, exactly right. At the end of the season two spindles had the blades moved together as tightly as they could. One spindle was still pretty well the same as installed. Don't know why.

I've noticed some shifting of blades as the season progresses, even though I set them at 90-180-90 whenever I put them back on... guess there's just a lot of stress every now & then, followed by some slippage on the belt drive. (I know I hit my share of tree roots & rocks!)

Just about to install the transmission pan heater that ray66 recommended.... But right now it's pretty warm with no snow at all up here; put 60km on one of my motorcycles today running errands.:D:D (Good thing it's fall, or I'd be removing bugs from my teeth, I was smiling so much....)

Well, its Winter and time to think about the mower blades again. I ordered a new set of the Knurled Bushing 3/4 X 1 02-452ORE 3
Blade, Woods 1001513 91-584ORE 3

from Mower Parts Free Shipping Same Day . Price was $50.77 for the 3 blades and the bushing inserts.

Now to open the bushing centers to 20MM. Then I'll be ready for Spring cutting.
