They told me it was designed to be installed permanently. no need to remove for any attachments.

Installed the filter shield on my 2310 today. Not too bad. Had to remove the rear tires and drill a couple holes through the frame.

Paid $43.00 for the kit.

I am glad it is available for purchase and self installation. But..............

It was a design failure that should be corrected at the expense of the manufacturer - same as the auto manufacturers handle recalls.

Dollar wise, I really don't care. The dealer can take care of it next time the tractor goes in for service. It is the principle that bothers me.

Thanks Ray2310, $43 is not too bad considering AGCO parts prices,
(That $6 Filter it protects costs $40). My principal complaint is that it
took sooooo loooong. This thing has been done for a frick'in year,
and it is just now becoming available.
If you consider that the tractor did not come with it, we did not
pay for it, so now we have to. I don't think thats unfair.

I agree. As long as all 2300 that are being produced now leave the factory with this guard. I don't have an issue with having to buy one for an older 2300. Anyone awaiting delivery for one, or ordering one should get this factory installed.

Been lurking the MF forum as I have an AGCO ST22A and I think it is basically the same tractor as the GC2300. Read this thread yesterday and looked under my tractor last night and sure enough it should have a guard as well. It was delivered new in the fall of 2006 and it has no guard and I had not been told about one being available. I will be checking into it now. Thanks.
