Looking for the most hours on a GC series tractor and the longes ownership of one.

Reason I am asking is, for those with the most hours or longest ownership time, what, if any, problems have you encountered?

My GC2300 is at 550 hrs, either a 04 or 05, not sure, used for snowblowing thru up to 6 ft drifts, wallenstein BX42 chipper in summer, only problem was eating up the front end gears, factory defect, covered by MF , was NOT under warranty.
I am happy!!!

The oldest GC's are from 2005 the model year.

That's what mine is. I have owned it since new.

My 2310 is an '07, now has about 220 hrs. Problems have mostly been relatively minor:

I re-routed some hydraulic hoses and tie-wrapped them into their new positions to prevent chafing, and in one case slipped some plastic hose over a hydraulic hose to protect it;

I've managed to bust off both ROPS lights, repaired them, broke 'em off again :ashamed:.... eventually replaced them both with Kubota lights, which were less expensive and a bit smaller;

Found all 4 mounting bolts for the 2360 blower loose, re-torqued them and haven't had any further issues;

A few obstinate zerk fittings, either replaced them or pulled them off, cleaned & re-installed them;

Added a temp gauge, which I felt was a necessary addition;

Also added a flat-4 connector to the electric chute controls on the blower.

And only two :thumbsup: really significant problems, a broken ground strap/cable (some of these used a cable that was just too short, IMHO) and two hydraulic hoses that let go at 180 hrs or so.

I also recently added a second ground cable on the other side of the engine, and I swear it cranks much faster now; it really acts as though it's got a new battery when starting, but it's still the original.

Overall, it's been a great investment and I'm still very happy with it.:)

Mine's a 2007 GC2300 and as of today it's got a mere 1678 hrs.Running just fine.Of course like any piece of equipment it did have some problems,all were fixable of course.Last year in the spring the muffler flange broke off right at where it bolts onto the exhaust manifold.[Fixed just by welding it back together] it's been good since.I had a annoying oil leak comming from the RH break shaft.Had to replace the o-ring that's in there.Oh yeah had to pull the rear diff and remove the side cover to get inside to remove the shaft and then the o-ring.Replaced o-rings on the hydralic control valve.Had to replace a cradle brg inside the hydro unit,plus when the brg broke shards of metal scored the swash plate so I had to replace that plus have the barrel lapped as well.In all honesty the tractor was bought cheaply with 1200 hrs on it due to the hydro not working right.I don't know how it was worked before I got it but since I've had it since June 2009 it's been used but not abused and I'am sure it'll be good to me for many yrs to come.Heck any tractor is going to need something eventually.All I know is I enjoy using it and getting as much seat time as I can. I think you got me beat!:laughing::laughing: Nice to know my LRB should have a lot of life left in her- don't expect I'll live long enough to need another one at the rate I'm going!
