Mine's a 2007 GC2300 and as of today it's got a mere 1678 hrs.Running just fine.Of course like any piece of equipment it did have some problems, all were fixable of course.Last year in the spring the muffler flange broke off right at where it bolts onto the exhaust manifold.[Fixed just by welding it back together] it's been good since.I had a annoying oil leak comming from the RH break shaft.Had to replace the o-ring that's in there.Oh yeah had to pull the rear diff and remove the side cover to get inside to remove the shaft and then the o-ring.Replaced o-rings on the hydralic control valve.Had to replace a cradle brg inside the hydro unit, plus when the brg broke shards of metal scored the swash plate so I had to replace that plus have the barrel lapped as well.In all honesty the tractor was bought cheaply with 1200 hrs on it due to the hydro not working right.I don't know how it was worked before I got it but since I've had it since June 2009 it's been used but not abused and I'am sure it'll be good to me for many yrs to come.Heck any tractor is going to need something eventually. All I know is I enjoy using it and getting as much seat time as I can. Larry

Well, at least I know who to ask if I have any hydro issues!!;) Congrats on the hrs. Man, that makes me feel good about my purchase.

Hey can we add the 1500 series to the mix. They have been out for awhile now too. Think they just added a new one 1525 or something. Figured I would ask before I listed mine.

07 2310 had 387 hrs on it. Blew up radiator, loose nut got caught between fan and radiator. Bought new radiator. Friend broke off FEL joystick, made new one. Welded MMM frame couple of times. Great machine, but just traded it in yesterday.

For what did you trade?

I have an '07 with only 140 hours on it and only had minor problem with the FEL float (fixed by dealer, at my home, no charge). I've done some bone headed things like broke a hydraulic hose (my fault), ripped one of those rubber things on the tie rod (?), broke a few sheer pins...the usual stuff.

But every time I use this tractor, I am so pleased with my decision to buy it that I just smile all over.

We may get a foot or so of snow tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to donning the trusty Carhartts, Mad Bomber hat, and LL Bean boots - and having some tractor fun. :D

I suggest this thread not turn into a list of everything that has been repaired on your tractor. Especially, those without context. For example, someone could give the appearance of lots defects, when actually the repairs were the result of operator error.

Remember, everything you post is here forever, for anyone to read. Consider there is not necessarily a competing brand version, listing hrs, and repairs, for a fair comparison, for someone who is interested in buying a used subcompact, maybe yours, and reading these threads.

We do have some ability to affect our own resale values.

Doubtful that the ramblings of a small sample of relatively anonymous posters would have such an effect on an entire market. Every forum I have seen has similar threads, and I haven't seen that reported as contributing to the decline of Mercedes, BMW, Harley, or you name it.

At the same time, that is how trends are often discovered as seemingly random pieces of information are put together in ways that result in better products, better public heath, and a general improvement of Karma in the universe. :)

Have you ever heard of Google?

I have surprisingly come across lots of TBN posts, while searching on Google. Some I was part of. Try it for yourself, try searching GC 2300 problems, and see what happens. First thing you see is TBN threads offered up. Once a buyer finds TBN, it's all here.

A prospective buyer who knows no one, who owns one, has few other options, but to use the internet for opinions.

I don't buy anything anymore, without looking for reviews on the internet. When more people discover that as an asset, potentially all these posts will be here for them to read.

07 2310 with 163 hours. 1 blown FEL hose after many, many bucket loads of dirt and gravel. No other problems at all and I've asked an awful lot from my little SCUT.

For ray66v we'll have to agree to disagree about forum posts. I use the forum to identify possible problems and find fixes. I learned not to use the steering wheel to pull myself onto the tractor. I learned the hydraulic hoses aren't the highes quality. I started the thread on 2360 snowthrower chute deflector actuators freezing due to water intrusion into the gearbox and found others that had the same problem. I don't care about resale value as much as I care about finding and fixing any problems.

Radiator - I dont know, maybe my fault

FEL joystick - my friends fault, he was not aware of the proper dismount techniques

MMM - probably my fault, you're mowing close enough when you hit it.

Hole in Hydraulic hose - my fault, was in the way of the 3PH arm

This is a great machine, my own stupidity caused 99% of the problems.

Traded up to a B3200, wanted to go bigger. As far as resale value, after almost 400 hours I traded for about 3K less than I bought it.

No, I never said not to use this forum to discuss problems and fixes, that is what it is for.

I suggested it would be counter productive, and unnecessary to use THIS THREAD as a running list of repairs everyone has done without much, or any context.

Would you also pay $15,000 for a stock, and then going on the internet and tell people how bad it is?
