The CR rigid mount versus the DR or Trac Vac hitch is 6 of one, half dozen of the other. After the first time you bang the CR into something on a turn you figure it out. Storage is actually one of the Cyclone Rake advantages. When you fold it and hang it on the wall, it takes very little space.

Picked up this Cyclone Rake for $250 on Craigslist.

No offense, but: I hate you! After lots of research and scouring local CL and other addsites, I bit the bullet and just paid full retail. Well, a little less since they gave me a discount beyond the current sale price, probably so I would stop pestering them with questions.

I take the delivery on Thursday. Can't wait to put it to work on grass clippings, then serious leaf duty come fall. After a lot of research, I'm confident this was the right vacuum for me. The compact storage space was a big factor, as it's got to fit in my shed, and nothing else would come close. I also think the non-articulating hitch will work better for me, as I'll be backing down about 100' of trail to dump most of the time. I'm sure I'll have some issues with forward maneuverability given the overall length, esp. since mine will also be on a 3ph. But the straighter, cleaner suction path sounds like a serious benefit.

I like your deck boot attachment--I also want to avoid drilling into my deck, so might steal this idea.

Agree that was a good deal. With your $650 total in it, I spent around $1K more than that for a 3pt PTO-driven Kubota 3 bagger. No way I could handle our leaf problem each fall without it. Not to disparage your deal -- obviously a good one -- but I find the "up close and in tight" design of the 3pt bagger better for me because I have room to store it and would not for the pull-behind. Also, I agree with Dale I would want it pivoted at the draw bar -- not for backing up but for maneuverability. Being an unintentional bull in a china shop anyway, I know I would break or bend something with it swinging out that far behind and trying to make turns, etc. I would find it easier to limit my turns and not over stretch the slinky hose than to avoid the very long fishtail issue. I'm guessing you have a large lawn/lot to deal with and enough storage space too. Should be a very effective tool.

To keep from over stretching slinky hose I always try to make turns to the right...

Dale
