I wanted to have a front plow to utilize in addition to my back blade. I had an old plow from a wheel horse tractor i wanted to try to install. I cut two links of a big chain off for each side then lynch pinned it to the tractor after connecting it to the existing brace of the plow frame with a u bolt. Connected a strap to an eye on the frame and then to that chain on bucket. With only 2 links on the back it makes it too short to sway back and hit anything on my tractor. I know i will need 2 longer lynch pins for strength. We are supposed to get a few inches of snow tonight so I can try it out. 1517680186583.jpg

This is made from two Bolens tube frame plows.

Works great.

That's a really sweet set up

Thanks. It was more of a test when I did it.

It worked so well, I just use the prototype.

You should try to find some thing to add some width to the blade.

I started with a 42" plow, and added the outer part of a second plow to each end.

You guys got me thinking about my 60inch Moose plow I bought 13 years ago for my ATV. Its been sitting there doing nothing for 9 years. Ill just have to figure out how to adapt it to the bucket.

I did not consider the bottom of my GC bucket heavy enough to mount even my lightweight plow to it, without the real possibility of damaging it.

I did not want to make the bucket heavier. So, I built a frame to mount the plow to.

It wasn't difficult to fabricate. And, eliminating the bucket allowed a shorter overall length.

Ray, I have had a similar idea to do with a Cub Cadet plow blade (54 or 60 inch sizes). I already have a quick attach on my FEL - and I can get a "blank" quick attach plate I could mount to the plow. Then I could drop the bucket - in seconds and in seconds attach the plow so I could switch between the two easily and with little weight issues. But I ran out of time in 2017 - it will be a 2018 project :)
