Just measured mine, rops done is about 60". With the backhoe boom locked with the pins about 70". You can drop the boom/bucket to the deck of the trailer and you should be ok to fit. The annoying thing is that the rops "rests" on the backhoe boom when its down.

Awesome, thanks for taking the time to measure! I'm assuming the trailer isn't more than 20" right? I guess I should be able to find a trailer that isn't if that would end up being the limiting factor. Thanks again!

Well, here you go.

Trailer height - 25 inches
From deck of trailer to top of rops - 64 inches.
I built some brackets to keep rops off backhoe and keep it level. Rops is the tallest point.

Thanks Snobdds! I guess the trailer height will be the critical factor. I'll have to see if I can find one that is lower. Thanks again for the help!

Alternatively, I spoke to a friend last night that leaves his BX25 out at his land (with kill switches and parts removed) and he hasn't had any problems. Maybe I could do that, but with my luck it would be gone in a day.

now i know your whole story here -- you want to "hide " the tractor while its at your rental.

silly question , but cant you put a shipping container on your land and park your tractor inside? instead of messing with a tractor on the trailer an parking it inside the garage. a 16 foot trailer is NOT 16 feet with the tongue. its more like 20 ish. just how long is the garage ? you would need a 40 foot long garage for car and trailer .
This way you can drive quicker to the land and save gas towing round trip each time you need the tractor. plus you have something to put your stuff inside with too.

I keep mine at my cabin all summer long. It is however way up in the mountains in a very non populated area. The only people that go back there have property back there. You can always wire in a kill switch on the fuel cut solenoid to some hidden switch. By using the bucket to lift the front end, you could take a front tire off as well pretty easily. If the thing involves the thief spending money to use something, they probably wont steel it because they're usually broke in the first place.

Awesome idea for the brackets! Might have to steal that ;) What length is that trailer?

16 foot trailer. It fits the tractor perfectly.

Radioman - correct. Also I figured in the garage it would be cared for better. It's a two car (wide) garage but I forgot about the tongue length. It should still have the depth for it. I thought about the shipping container as I do live near a port, but they are about $1500 used without tax and shipping. By then I'd almost rather spend the money on a trailer.

snobdds - you're right. If it takes much effort, most thieves will pass. I think I could also have some fun putting some booby traps in around it. Still, we had our cars stolen all the time growing up so I get a bit paranoid about that sort of thing even more so if we're not with it in this case.
