Massey scut 2015 GC1715
Greetings,

With a new GC1715 coming . . . it got me wondering what I don't know. Its a Tier 4 product, so what gets done differently to it than a non tier 4 engine if it had been a GC2600 series or a Kubota BX series?

Obviously it will use low sulphur diesel fuel. But will it need exhaust oil or special handling or unique servicing or pre-operational checks?

I know the advantages of Tier 4 and a 25.5 hp Iseki engine doesn't need a canister. But what does it need?

Nothing special is necessary for the GC engines to meet tier 4 requirements. The tier 4 requirements vary based on the output of the engine. So a 20 hp engine has a different, and in fact, slightly less restrictive emission standards than a 50 hp engine. As far as I know, all of the SCUT sized machines were able to meet the tier 4 requirements with just some small tweaks to the engines, no special add ons.

Some info

Agreed with the comments. There was some talk that Iseki could not meet the standards and maybe that is true for the higher HP, but our subcompacts at the rated HP meet the Tier 4 so good news, as this is my second Iseki built tractor and I couldn't be happier. And ultra low sulpher diesel has been produced for a few years now so no worries about that requirement.

I'm curious why the Mahindra, Yanmar, and Massey scut units are all Tier 4 . . but my undetstanding is Kubota BX units are not ????

I don't know about John Deere or Kioti.
