Hello! I am having some weird problems with the engine on my GC1720TLB, just did routine maintenance a few hours ago. It seems to run okay at idle but when I increase the throttle it sounds strange and is very smoky. Appreciate any tips or things to look for!

Can you help us out a little and state specifically what were the routine maintenance activities that you performed?

Of course! All fluids, filters, and O rings changed.

Are you sure you got all the air out of the fuel lines?

What procedure/sequence did you follow for bleeding the lines to the injectors?

Where were the O-rings located that you replaced?

Thank you for your reply! I am not sure at all! I had no idea about this.

After reading your comment I pulled out my manual and completed the following two times. Unfortunately the behavior did not correct.

I believe engine oil filter O-ring and hydro filter O-ring

Did you change the fuel filter?

Yes I did change the fuel filter.

Ensure the fuel supply valve is turned fully on, bowl full of fuel while running. If everything looks ok, pull the filter back off again, double check the inside of the filter for obstructions, inspect o-ring.
Haven't really heard of anyone getting the fuel system airlocked on a GC.

When you bled the fuel lines did it seem like there was any air coming out?

You said you performed the bleeding procedure 2 times. Did you notice any improvement at all?

Hello everyone! I have fixed the issue. My father put gasoline in the tank... 🤣🤣🤣. I have drained and bled the system and it now runs like new. I will be running the fuel I put I'm it through and changing the fuel filter after. Thank you all for your suggestions. I would have never learned to bleed the fuel system without the tips!
