Sept 3/09 called massey hurrah parts are in so that means a trip into winnipeg for parts pickup.I'll finally get a chance to put things all back together in the next few days so hopefully it'll be a working unit by the end of the weekend.Being a long weekend here companys comming so time will be limited to put it back together but at least now I have parts to work with.I'll do my best to keep everyone up to date on how it works out.As always Larry

well got busy last night and started putting things back together after waiting all that time felt like trying to get it going.Up early this morning and finally at 3 pm today had it running so was able to try it out and even got to cut some grass. It works good better then when I started using it when I first got it.What I do notice is that when I take my foot off the forward, reverse pedal it stops right now ,it didn't do that before so wondering if thats how its supposed to work.Anyway its nice to beable to use it.The biggest problem with this bearing breakage was the wait time.Had to have both barrels lapped as well due to slight scoring and of course the valve plate was scored beyond fixing.Put another new filter and new oil in and will possibly change oil in the next 10-20 hrs to flush out any metal fillings etc;Buy doing this I'll also get to see if there's anymore silvery looking stuff in the oil.Going to do this for my peace of mind.

Interesting about the tractor stopping immediately when you take your foot off the pedal... this is a common complaint on the 2300 tractors. You get used to it, but I find I often have to tap the pedal to get it to go fully into neutral... hmmmm...

5 th time trying to do this quick reply my computer keeps looging me off and it won't let me do this will try this again.the possible reason why my hydro unit failed was or could be due to the improper adjustment of the foot pedal forward stop bolt. The service manual says that it shoild be adjusted like this adjust the bolt to allow full pedal travel the turn the bolt counter clockwise 360 degrees to prevent the pedal from over travelling and causing damage to the HST. once i had mine together I did this and found that the way mine was set up there was still 1/8 of a inch gap.So did this cause the bearing in my HST to fail or was it set up properly before and because I had my foot pedal off maybe after putting it back on again maybe it was in a slight different position from where it was before. This I won't know but its maybe something other owners can do with there's to check this on theres to keep a possible problem like this happening to there's.I don't know if that was the cause of it but just letting others know it only takes a few minutes to check and adjust your's As always Larry
