After blowing snow today 3.5hrs I took a better look at stuff.Did some measurements and found out something interesting.Having the extra plate on each end is because someone has put new ones against the cylinder. The older plates # 11's on page 128 parts book are really badly worn.Looks like its been run with them being loose as the hole is worn out badly.so probably why they put new plates on.What they should have done also was to put new nuts onto the cylinder ends [which of course they didn't] there worn out as well.So looks like I'll have to get new ends.Part# "s 4264700m91 &4264697m91 The new plates don't have any paint rubbed off yet so this is there measurment I used a digital caliper. 1.987 hole in the plate and the cylinder ends [nuts] are 1.925" so this is why things move.Anyway to keep things from getting worse I took a inner tube cut a strip out of it and used it as a filler between the plate and nut.Its sitting nice and tight now.Guess next week will have to order parts and when there in I'll have to take the cylinder off and apart and fix it properly.Guess somebody thought changing the plates would be good enough but it's not.Never know what to expect buying used stuff. As always Larry.:D

Hey, not too bad-- if that's your only problem, I'd say you did OK with your used purchase!

You're right, gotta expect some problems.... It is too bad, however, when folks "shortcut" here & there; it doesn't look like, other than a bit of time, the proper repair will be that expensive or difficult. Glad you hear you got it nailed down!:D

There is no such thing as a "cheap" part for this stuff.

I spent my whole life in the auto repair business. And I find almost everything to be 2 to 2.5 times what I would expect it to cost.
