Just purchased a used GC2300. I have a problem with the front steering cylinder being quite loose and one tie rod hits when turning sharp to the left. It looks like the cylinder is to be supported by two rings mounted to the front axle.

Also, are there any after market repair manuals that are any good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I have been coming up blank on this problem on line.

Are these the "rings" you suspect are missing?

Yep, the bracket/ring that has the two bolt heads holding it. The brackets/rings are not missing they are slightly angled out on both ends and the cylinder just flops around. The one ram of the cylinder is actually resting on the inside of the bracket/ring.

I need to invest in a repair manual. I would imagine the tie rod on the left side is hitting the axle because of this cylinder movement.

Seems like many things are only available through a dealer.
