My GC2300 wont turn off by the switch or the safety switch. Have to pull the intake and stop the air from the intake.

Anyone else have this issue?

Yep. Fuel shutoff solenoid is not being energized. Check for a blown fuse first, if not probably the ignition switch. My fuse blew last year, repaced fuse, worked fine for a bit then stopped working again , no blown fuse. Started working again for a while, then stopped again in early spring, leading me to believe it's an electrical issue. Others have remedied the issue by replacing the ignition switch.
Going to remove some panels and check the wiring/switches when I replace the rubber idolaters on the steering column.
Until then I open the hood and activate the shutoff solenoid manually.

Fuel Solenoid has a rubber cap on the front that will shift when pushed in, stopping fuel flow to the engine.

The fuse box is easily accessed be removing the cover under the throttle on the right side. The 5amp (orange) fuse on the inside operates the fuel shutoff.

Found the wire diagrams and troubleshooting for a while. Initially thought may be ba solinoid, as the fuse was ok. Finally located corroded and broken wire under the fuse box. The battery as causing corrosion issues. Repaired the wire and corrected the issue.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the update. I'll check my wiring tomorrow. I pulled the ignition switch just to look at it. Nice shade of green on the bottom. Doesn't look like it's a serviceable part. Crimped together, no fasteners.

I took another look at my fuse box. It was a corrosion issue on the spade connectors for the fuse. Cleaned them up, added some grease ( I don't know why they are left dry on assembly),shuts off with the switch now. I had also removed the starter switch, and reinstalled without doing anything to it. That connection was well lubricated.

Thanks for the inspiration. I didn't want to have to go thru the entire troubleshooting thing. :)
