What should we do? $2,784. between the Massey and the Bobcat CT122? It's a lot of money, budget is tight... but it's not the same machine, isn't it? One is sub-compact an the other is compact... We like the Massey but we're afraid to miss power... Please help! Thank you for your advice.

Buy the tractor you like, and can more easily afford, then learn to use it to your best advantage. Appreciate it for what it is, and what it can do for you, and don't try to make it into something it is not. The Massey engine is larger, puts out more torque, and more hp at the pto. Size, and weight have their limitations, but patience can overcome that in a great many cases.
Have fun! :)

Chuck, I like the way you think; it helps. Thank you very much. I think we're gonna go with Massey, because the budget is limited... New build home still not finished brings a lot of bills to pay... We didn't win the jackpot, so maybe the Massey like you say will take more time to do the job, but it seems to do it, anyway...

Ground clearance of Massey (6' 7") may be force us to clear the space before passing with tractor, because there's a lot of stones here and we don't want to break it. I think after reading all the Massey GC2310 users comments, that it is the best tractor we can have for the price we want to pay.

I will inform you when we got it. Thank you all!

I will bet you won't be disappointed. I have been absolutely pleased with mine and how well it does. Knowing you are building a new house I would consider you trying to negotiate a box blade into your deal. If they don't throw it in you could at least get a good discount. I think it is the hardest implement to learn in my opinion but, it also is one of the best for smoothing and moving dirt around. I have used mine way more than I would of expected, it's uses are endless.

One last comment,
Chuck has been awesome, he had helped in making my decision as well. Not biased, just provides the facts and useful info. Thanks Chuck. In the beginning of my search Red was not even on my radar and I was very skeptical on this size tractors when doing my research. He assisted on providing me information which defiantly helped in my decision process.

I can't say enough good things about my 2310 TLB It amazes me everytime I get on the seat!:D It digs great and blows snow great and the FEL has a thousand uses. I'm so glad I bought this last winter:cool: And the 5 year no interest doesn't hurt either!

Really Disapointed... We came back to Massey dealer with our pictures of our projects... He has changed his mind and has recommanded bigger than the GC2310 because of the size of the stones we have to push or we discover when digging... He recommands 1528 or 1531 and also 1533!

So, we are very disapointed, we were decided to pick up the GC2310...

With the price of the 1528, we can have Bobcat ST122 and equipment for less, so we think it's not gonna be a Massey... I'm very angry against the salesman, cause in the first time and when I came back, I had share him doubt about the GC2310 and he wasn't helpfully. If we wouldn't show him our pictures, he would sold us the GC2310 and we would be in trouble...

The nice thing here is that I prefer to be disapointed now than after buying the tractor...

I will give you news.

That is too bad! It is so hard to visualize the actual projects that someone has without seeing them, and though it is disappointing, I'm glad the salesman was honest. Too bad he didn't have something you could try on your land, even if it were a used tractor.

Fredartic-- I've been following your decision process-- I also have a GC2310TLB, and am very happy with it.... though I am only beginning to learn what it is capable of. I do still feel, however, that with 0% for 5 years it is one of the best deals for the money. The local dealer here says M-F is also offering 0% on some of the larger 1500-series tractors.

My suggestion is this-- see if there is someone with a 2310 near where you live that you could try out-- or will your dealer allow you to try one? Buying a tractor is a considerable investment that will presumably be with you for many years to come, it would seem worth the time to try one first! Je vous invite a visiter New Hampshire!

Hey Fred, can you scan the pictures you showed your dealer, maybe somebody who actually works with the 2310 can help you more then the guy who is selling a 1500 series. If your not too far from Quebec city, I will be digging as soon as all the snow melts.
