I have a basically brand new GC2400L that I have noticed the bucket drifting down on when using. I have other loaders that I have never had this problem with. I am wondering if other GC owners experience this or if I have a problem. Even with the tractor running it will drift down. If I have a load in it, it requires frequent correction, especially the tilt.

That doesn't sound right. Mine will creep down, but only very slowly, after parking it and shutting it down. It might drop 2" overnight. Don't notice any drop while using it. Sounds like a call to the dealer might be in order.

Mine does the same thing ONLY with a heavy load in it.

Not familiar with the control valve on the GC models but is there a chance their is some slight binding of linkage that is preventing the valve from centering completely? If like my Bota BX the valve is buried and difficult to access.

A couple of simple tests to try.

1) Using the loader lift the front of the tractor off the ground. Does the loader drift allowing the front of the tractor to drop?

If no I would look at the linkage connected to the directional valve to see if it binding slightly and preventing the spool from centering properly.

If yes, 2) Swap the hoses from lift/lower and curl/dump. Now raise the loader using the curl function. Does the loader drift?

If no, this points towards a bad valve section or improper centering of the lift spool.

If yes I am stumped since leaking cylinder seals will NOT allow the cylinder to move without some external leakage path.

Mine does the same with a load-I have to keep tapping the fel bucket to curl up when driving with the load for more than a couple minutes.

maybe the loader has been on and off quite a few times.

i have noticed that sometimes i end up with quite a bit of air in the loader lines... not sure what causes it, but it might be something to do with the position of the cylinders when it gets cut loose from the machine.

it does always seem to work itself out as i use it though.

Sounds same as mine. Maybe I will call the dealer to inquire. Doesn't seem like it should do that. I have a 40 year old payloader that drifts less than this brand new tractor.

Let me know how it goes-my stealership says it was normal along with the hydraulic shudder I get when using the bh sometimes.

mine will shudder when i try to use too low rpm. backhoe seems to be different than the rest of the tractor hydraulics in that it needs high rpm to run smooth.

What is this "shudder" you are talking about??
