Has anyone come up with a solution for folding the ROPS part way? I don't like having to lay it on the pads for the backhoe when I fold it to park the tractor in the garage. I was thinking of making a link that would attach to the upper pin hole and the lower pin holes. I only need about 5 inches more clearance. My other option would be to build a barn with taller doors, but I think the links would be cheaper for now and easier to explain to the wife.

I have a similar problem where I park my GC2410, I park it under my house and the clearance it tight. The ROPS needs to be down almost to the backhoe pads also. I took a coat hanger and wrapped a few turns around one of the pins from the ROPS then I used a tiedown to hold up and adjust the ROPS to the height I wanted. With the pin with the wire in the lower part of the ROPS I put the second pin in the upper hole on the ROPS and wrapped the 2 pieces of wire around the upper pin and twisted it all together. Then I removed the tiedown and wrapped the contraption with electrical tape. I just made this to get the distance between center of the "link". I have been using this piece of wire for about a year now and I have decided that I have the length close enough to make a couple of aluminum links, I am going to make 2 links to keep the ROPS supported on both sides.

I need to figure out a good method to remove the link and put the ROPS back in the upright position when I get the tractor out. Pulling the pins and swinging the ROPS back up into position needs at least one more hand than I have.

Good Luck, I might be able to get the tractor out and take a few pictures and measure the distance between center on the holes over the weekend if you are interested?

I haven't made them yet but I eas thinking of using pipe "T"'s an a nipple. You can get nipples of any lenght already threaded and than it's just easy to put them together. This will hold it in place but it still will take hands to put it up.

Well I ended up just making 2 links to hold it in the position I wanted. I'm just goint to bolt the links in place since it doesn't seem to get in the way of me on the BH with the ROPS partially folded back. I spaced the holes on the link 3 7/8" apart. If I want to get fancy in the future I may cut the links and weld a turnbuckle in between for adjustability.

wow- you guys are lucky- on my BX, it will only fold down halfway like wing. Everytime I get back there to hook up a implement esp the pto, I always seemed to forget the rops and bang my head. I'd rather have it fold down all the way instead of banging my head.

Thanks Radioman,

Another reason to buy a Massey...the ROPS folds all the way.

I just ordered a GC2410 and I am also in the middle of building a garage for it. Will it get in and out of an 8' door ok, or should I go ahead and get a 10 footer

I have 8ft doors on mine and it clears by a few inches. I just have to remember to make sure the door is all the way up

I guess I hadn't noticed the issue on the 2410-- you mean it's different than the 2310? On mine, I just leave the side stabilizers not quite all the way up, and the ROPS just folds down and rests against the BH controls "console." I just put some sort of padding between the two. When the ROPS doesn't need to be up, it just sits there....

Putting the ROPS up is a one-person job, only two hands required. How's the 2410 different?
