GC2410 Folding ROPS

   / GC2410 Folding ROPS #11
Hi Walt,

I don't know that the 2410 is that much different than the 2310. I want to have my ROPS up a little higher than resting against the console. I swing the boom to the left or right when I park it under the house so it gets under a little further.

It always seems like when I put the ROPS back up I am in a bad position and should actually be standing on the backhoe platform to put it back upright. But I also need to fold the ROPS when the backhoe is off the tractor, actually nothing on the back of the tractor. It is a little harder to get it upright without anything on the back to stand on.

I was hoping that I could swing the ROPS all the way down with the backhoe off the tractor and just leave it folded down. But I don't think I will be able to turn the seat around to use the backhoe.

It sounds as though your ROPS must be different... I flip mine up fairly easily while standing on the ground...

I have only one pic of the ROPS down and the BH off; it's hard to see, but in that case the ROPS just falls vertical against the rear of the tractor. I set it up that way when mowing, until I hit the slopes- then the ROPS goes up, the belt goes on, and 4WD is engaged. It does not interfere with the seat. It does, however, have to go up to either remove or attach the BH.

Is your ROPS binding somewhere perhaps?

PS-- Even with the ROPS down, I can still swing my BH almost all the way to either side; in fact I often have to do that while maneuvering to snowblow between the house and the garage "porch."

wow- you guys are lucky- on my BX, it will only fold down halfway like wing. Everytime I get back there to hook up a implement esp the pto, I always seemed to forget the rops and bang my head. I'd rather have it fold down all the way instead of banging my head.

I almost knocked myself out the other day...it was the end of the day, I was tired and kind of day dreaming of an ice cold beer, so I took one pin out, walked around, took the other pin out, then I went back to the other side forgeting I had already taken that pin out first. As I walk behind the tractor I felt the ROPS come swinging within millimeters of my face as it crashed into the BH control box...It left a small dent in the control box as a reminder to pay attention to what the **** I'm doing. :ashamed:

Here's the links I made. I used the BH today with the ROPS in the position in the pic and it wasn't in the way.

Wish I would have read this a couple weeks ago......have always left my ROPS up on our GC2310. Was working around some trees, the ROPS caught a low branch and it broke. It fell close to my head. From now on ROPS is folded down except when using the hoe.
