I bought a 4' king kutter rotary cutter at the same time I bought my GC. I was told that it would fit. Yesterday I tried to mount it but the lift arms will not expand wide enough to accept the pins on the cutter, they hit the BH brackets.
Besides that when the 3pt is fully raised, it just lines up with the mount pins on the cutter:confused:. So I will not be able to lift off the ground. My question is does anyone else have this issue or is the cutter to large for the GC?? I went and picked up the MMM yesterday with the cutter still on the trailer and asked if it would fit my GC and was told it should. I think there should be a smaller one available 4' wide, that should work correctly. Am I wrong??

Wacky, are the 3pt hitch pins on the cutter mounted inboard or outboard? If outboard, mount them inboard.

Even if I mount inboard, the lift is all the way up to line up with the mount pins, so I wouldn't be able to lift off the ground. I also would have to buy a very long 3rd link to reach as high as the mount is on the cutter. I think it is for a larger tractor not a SCUT.

How about some pics for us to see.I have a gc2300 and I've moved my old 5' Howse brush mower around with it ,and it worked fine.I use that mower on the MF 175 to cut the rough areas with.I just use the gc2300 to move it around the yard and out of the way of grass cutting etc". The howse mowers 3pth pins are about 10-12" from the ground with tthe mower sitting on its own.How high off the ground are the pins on yours.I also have one pin mounted inboard and one outboard.I do this reason so that when the mower is on the MF 175 it'll sit more to one side.I also have a big spring that I mount to the 3pth arm on that side so it holds the mower over to that one side so that it makes it good for cutting right to the edge of trails and along fence lines. Measure how high your pins are and how high you 3pth ball socket ends lift off the ground post them and let us know.I'll go measure how high mine lift and see if yours aren't set in the right place.Larry

The lift pins are 19 3/4" and the 3rd link is about 42" from the ground. I don't have the camera today wife has it on her trip. Maybe post pics tomarrow. The links on the GC go up to about 20" off ground. The cutter is the same one King Kutter has on their website, and is assembled as such.

You said the 3pt arms is hitting the BH bracket when lowered ? Is your 3 pt removeable ? if it is then it sounds like the lift arms is backwards.

The Lower links hit when spread apart to try and slide over the mounting pins and the left link is stationary, no turnbuckle.

UPDATE.....

I called the dealer he said he sold a bunch of these for my size tractor. He said he would do some checking. Turns out, KingKutter changed the mount setup. He is ordering me an XB (which is more money and made specifically for SCUT) for an even exchange! Feels good to have a dealer that will step up to the plate for a change:D! Thanks guys for all the help!

Whacky I had the same problem with the same cutter on a Kubota B21. What I did was add another set of pins facing inward about 6 or 7" below the originals. Now for the life of me I can't remember if I drilled the holes or they were existing.
