Saw the email awhile back... checked the math, and it was off by a few decimal places. I went to the US Census Bureau site and pulled some population numbers off of there.
That dropped our payoff to $407.
Considering we have more people now then in 2000, we would probably lose a few more dollars on the payoff.
Now if we increase the initial amount to that of the actual bailout, some $800 billion, we still only get around $4,000 per person over the age of 18. For my family, that would be around $12,000. Myself, I could take that money and waste it all on hookers and blow and still feel I did a better job with it than Congress.
