I just drained the gear box on my MMM (Kubota 60 inch). The manual calls for SAE 90 API GL-5 year 'round. But all I have is 80W-90 gear oil GL-5. Is there really any differance that matters? I can buy some straight 90 later this week, but would like to get this finished ASAP. Thanks Y'All Set my mind at ease. Mike

Mike-just use your 80W90 GL-5 gear lube.In all reality,the mulit-viscosity 80W90 is a better choice than a straight 90W gear oil.Use it and don't look back!Good Luck!

Thanks..... #2....now it'll get done. BTW, the Boom Pole was handy in raising the MMM (off the tractor, of course) at an angle to drain the gear box.

I use 80W90 with no problems also.
