I'm trading the old Ford 3000 for a new Kubota L3240. One of the attachments I'm looking at to go with it is a 5' tiller. The dealer is offering a chain driven Landpride or a gear driven Taylor Way. The Taylor Way is about $300 less. Does anyone have any experience with these tillers or can give me any advice regarding which is the better tiller? Thanks!

I have a John Deere 660 that is chain drive and its given me trouble free service for 13 years. Just make sure to keep the slip clutch on the PTO shaft adjusted and either drive system will be fine. Landpride has a very good reputation with their tillers. If you like the Landpride better you can very likely get that $300 back if and when you choose to sell it.

We have the Hawkline/International 4 ft for $1495, 5 ft for $1595 and 6 ft for $1695 + Modest shipping. These tillers are all Gear Drive with 6 tines per rotor and slip clutch with ehavy cross bracing on top. Ken Sweet
