Gearing up for the woods

Here in NewBrunswick in the middle of winter with a couple of feet of snow in the woods, I am gearing up for my firewood business. Tools I have are power saws, L4740 Kubota tractor, a logging winch, a wood splitter and a buzz saw. Today I picked up a conveyor with no motor. It is bent up a bit which I stared heating and bending back. Tomorrow I am going to try to figure out what I am going to use for a motor. Perhaps a hydraulic motor running off the hydraulics of my wood splitter. Maybe a 4 horse power Honda motor.

Any suggestions?

I would go gas motor on the conveyor - more flexible as its not tied to the spliiter or a Hyd source to run.

I would be looking for an old rototiller or snowblower and salvage parts to drive the conveyor.

Thanks Carl. I think you have the right idea with a motor from an old snow blower ......I am just starting out and building up but so far I am happy with what I collected.

I was also referring to the pulleys / belts / tensioners and hardware you can salvage to run the conveyor unless you have these already on the conveyor.

The gear reduction and pulley was there but somebody bent the pulley and frame end. I straighten out the frame and decided to replace the pulley. it did not come off without pulling the sprocket off with it. Now that I got the entire thing apart I am in search for new bearings and sprocket. It is Sunday so I am hoping princess auto will have something but not likely.
