I knew a guy that had a ramp (stand up type on an equipment trailer) strap or pin failure and he drug a ramp a few miles. This was maybe 15-20 years ago up by Anderson, CA. Many houses burned. He filed bankruptcy as he was looking at millions in losses. Sad for all concerned.

A guy that I used to work with back in the 90s was accused of starting a big fire up in the Sierras. The police came to his house and said that he was seen leaving a camp fire at a campground where the forest fire started. They had a description of his truck and a license plate number that where both close, but not exact. Fortunately for him, he was in the middle of putting a new engine in his truck and it hadn't left his house in well over a month. He had been up in that area months before the fire, and it's anybodies guess if somebody really did take his license number down back then for something he did, or if it was all just coincidence?

Just an update, the Carr fire is now a little over 202,976 acres and 61% contained. Seems the additional acreage is mostly unburned "islands" within the containment area and fires burning up to the containment lines. Getting less smokey around here generally.

211,038 acres, 67% contained. Not near as smoky here in the north valley. All good news.
